Personalisation

Good advice from years of experience - the key factors to consider when reproducing your name and logo...

Hereward can create your unique logo and/or name in the most appropriate format for both clothing and trophies. Visit our online clothing catalogue to browse our clothing ranges, including teamwear and schoolwear.

Below we highlight the key factors for each format and what we need from you to get the best results.

Direct Printing

This is the most versatile format since it uses a digital printing process that gives excellent definition and is ideal for complicated designs in both mono and full colour. We also have a wide range of print film thicknesses to cope with different fabric weights.

Direct printing can be used on both fabrics and many solid surfaces such as trophies, awards and promotional items like coasters, mouse mats, clocks, etc.

Your logo and/or name can often be reduced to a very small size, where discrete branding is required - e.g. shirt pocket, lapel, etc.

All prints are applied by specially calibrated heat press and are not "iron on" transfers! The inks used are colour-fast and will withstand normal home laundering to 60 degrees.

Engraving

Trophies, awards and gifts mean that much more to the recipient when they are personalised with his/her own name. Depending on space available we can engrave whatever you require, typically:

Name of organisation or club

Title of award, Date, Personal name

Our new digital design facility means that we can now also reproduce a logo for your club or organisation in an engraved format onto metal, glass, acrylic, etc.

If you have an existing "perpetual" trophy we can also engrave the details of the latest winner, date, etc.

Embroidery

Where the garment fabric is heavy enough to support embroidery this is often an attractive option to direct printing, although larger quantities are required to make the unit cost economical.

Simple bold designs are best as more intricate details cannot be reproduced successfully in this format.

Origination costs depend on the design complexity and on-going costs are related to the density of design (stitch count) and quantities. Our embroidery machines have from 6 to 12 "heads" and therefore items need to be in related multiples to minimise production costs.

Promotional items

Remember, once your unique club or organisation logo has been digitally created, it can then be reproduced in all manner of sizes and formats. Below are just some of the ways in which your name can be promoted and/or used as part of a fund-raising programme.

Quick Tips - Your Name & Logo

No 1

For your logo to look its best on the finished item (team kit, business clothing, merchandise, trophies, etc.) here at Hereward we need the best possible start.

Ideally you should supply your logo in any one of these digital formats:

eps, vectorised image, Illustrator or jpeg at least.

Please don't send your logo as a fax, photocopy or anything worse!

No 2

When personalising clothing, trophies, merchandise, etc., we will ask you for written confirmation of names, whether company or personal. To avoid mistakes we never accept names over the telephone.

Where you the customer are supplying us with lots of personal names (e.g. an annual trophy presentation) it pays to double-check on exact spelling to ensure no disappointments on delivery. Look out for typical "soundalikes" such as: Ann, Anne, Jon, John, Roger, Rodger, etc.
